Original watercolor – Still life with Sunflowers

When the war in Ukraine started, there was an uptick in photos and artworks with sunflowers. I enjoyed creating this beautiful still life of VanGogh-esque sunflowers with blue background in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. The painting is done with Japanese watercolors which are more opaque and intense in color. It is painted on 8″ x 11″ watercolor stock. The painted area is 9 3/4” x 7 1/8”.
