Ararat and poppies Watercolor

A different take on the beloved Mt. Ararat. I used Japanese watercolors for this original painting which are more opaque and heavy than traditional watercolor. The poppy fields are in the foreground and the majestic Armenian mountains in the background make for a bold presentation. Painted on 8.5 x 11 watercolor stock. The painted area is 7 1/16″ x 9.75″.
